Welcome
Directors

KinetX gives your dancers a place to belong.

Dancers train all year, compete for a weekend, win their awards — and then it's over. The energy, the camaraderie, the feeling of being part of something — it doesn't travel home with them.

Introducing The KinetX Houses.

Alongside their studio, every dancer joins a House (Rise, Unleash, Impact, Ignite) a community they choose because it feels like them.— a cross-studio community that unites dancers across the board. A bond that transforms past studios. It turns a room full of competitors into a room full of teammates.

Rise
Unleash
Impact
Ignite

That's what we're building with KinetX: not just a competition, but a community of dancers that breathes well beyond just a weekend.

Our guarantee to you

We run every event with a minimum of 5 participating studios. We confirm or cancel each event no later than 30 days out — the same day your entry fees become non-refundable — and email every registered director either way. If we cancel for insufficient participation, every fee comes back to you in full, entry and media both.

Levels and age divisions

Spark
Novice
Up to 7 routines, 2 solos per event.
Charm
Intermediate
Up to 9 routines, under 7 training hours per week, 2 solos.
Mastery
Elite
10+ routines or 7+ hours per week, 3 solos.

Deadlines, fees, and when registration closes

45+ days
Pay 45+ days out for a 5% discount.
2 weeks
Music is due 2 weeks out through the portal — MP3, WAV, or M4A. Your preliminary schedule arrives 2 weeks out for corrections.
14 days
Inside 14 days a 10% late fee applies, entries must be paid by credit card, music uploads at the time of registration, and the routine won't appear on the preliminary schedule.
Event week
The final schedule goes out Monday of event week, and that's when registration closes for good. Changes after the final schedule are $25 each.

If plans change

Withdraw entries for a full refund up to 30 days out. Inside 30 days, entry fees are non-refundable.

If a dancer is injured or ill, send a doctor's note within a week of the event and we'll issue a studio credit, good for 12 months at any KinetX event. Substitutions are welcome in every category except Solos, and injury-related changes don't carry the $25 fee.

Call us before you withdraw a routine. A substitution or a category adjustment usually solves it and nobody loses money.

Props

Solo · Duet · Trio
Up to 30 seconds to set up and strike any props.
Small · Large · Line · Production
Up to 90 seconds to set up and 30 seconds to strike any props.

Beyond that, $50 per additional 30 seconds prepaid or $75 arranged on-site; routines with unpaid extended time aren't eligible for Overall Awards.

Not permitted
Fire
Fog or smoke
Helium balloons
Sharp objects
Studio-supplied lighting
Glitter
Water
Paint
Anything that stains the floor
Note

This allotted time given is not automatic. You must state during registration that you need prop setup time or KinetX will assume a dance routine does not need any time for prop setup.

Media

Personal photography and video are not permitted during performances. The Media Package is required for all dancers and covers every photo and video of their routines, hosted on Dance Comp Genie and available to download the same day. The fee is separate from entry fees and is calculated on your registration page.

One thing we can't promise

Because registration is first-come, first-served, we can't guarantee that every single division will have a full field. The 5-studio minimum covers the event, not all 1,600 possible combinations of level, age, category, and routine size.

Everything above is covered in full in our Rules & Regulations.
